Mr Katlego Sojane is a Developmental Lecturer in the School of laboratory Medicine and Medical Sciences. Following the completion of an undergraduate degree majoring in Biochemistry and Microbiology, Sojane obtained his Honours and Master of Science degrees in Medical Biochemistry.He is currently a PhD student, based at the HIV Pathogenesis Programme of UKZN, investigating the genetic and functional properties of HIV.Sojane’s research interests include identifying novel ways of treating HIV. His PhD project is designed to reveal how HIV targets certain tissues in the body and how to prevent infection of host cells by HIV.
