Event 3: Pholela Clinic Visit

Time: 08h00 – 17h00

Pholela Community Health Centre Visit

Pholela Community Health Centre is located in the Sisonke health district and was official opened on 21 April 2001.

Pholela CHC’s vision is to be a leading provider of optimal community orientated primary health care in KwaHlanganani. This vision is supported by the CHC’s mission that provides effective, efficient and integrated primary health care service for the community of KwaHlanganani through community orientated primary health care system.

The trip is to promote the mission of the Provincial and National Department of Health. This trip to the clinic will create an element to the first years that they need to be familiar with in the near future.

Day 3: Thursday, 2nd February 2017

Event 4: IALCH/CATO MANOR

Time: 08h00-17h00

Cato Manor Educational Talk

The first stop of the trip is a stop a drive through Cato Manor Dunbar Road.

Cato Manor is a working class area located seven kilometres from Durban’s city centre. An area which is entrenched with rich history, both politically and health care wise. Our Orientation Team will be educated about the history of the area and will disseminate the information to the first years. This will create a sense of awareness to them about the area they will be serving in the near future.
