The following Primary Health Care services are provided in all campus clinics:
- Assessment, Diagnosis and Treatment of ailments (sickness)
- Health Education and Medical Counselling
- Onsite First Aid Management
- Provision of Contraceptives (Including morning after pill)
- Pregnancy test and counselling
- Management of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s)
- Physical screening for various types of cancers (Cervical, Breast, Prostate etc.)
- Monitoring and management of blood pressure and blood sugar (including diabetes)
- Referrals to Specialists, Hospitals etc. (Only when necessary)
- Nutritional Care and Support
- Clinical Management of HIV/AIDS (Counselling, Testing, Management of HIV positive clients, Management of patients on ARV etc.)
Our Locum Doctors attend to student appointments on a weekly basis and students have to make appointments at the clinics prior to seeing the Doctors.
All clinics operate from Monday to Friday and the operating times are clearly displayed at the entrances to the campus clinics.
In case of emergencies afterhours and on weekends, RMS is tasked with responding to the emergency and to call out an ambulance to the emergency. ER24 is the University’s current Emergency Transport Provider.
